Your safari begins in the lush highlands of Aberdare National Park, a cool, forested wilderness known for misty mountain scenery, cascading waterfalls, and unique tree-lodge safari experiences. Wildlife such as elephants, buffaloes, rhinos, and elusive leopards frequent the forest clearings and waterholes, offering unforgettable viewing moments.
From Aberdare, travel north to the rugged landscapes of Samburu National Reserve, one of Kenya’s most distinctive safari destinations. Game drives along the Ewaso Nyiro River reveal an abundance of wildlife, including the rare Samburu Special Five — Grevy’s zebra, reticulated giraffe, Somali ostrich, Beisa oryx, and gerenuk — alongside elephants, lions, cheetahs, and rich birdlife.
The journey continues into the Great Rift Valley to Lake Nakuru National Park, a globally recognized rhino sanctuary and premier bird-watching destination. Enjoy game drives in search of black and white rhinos, Rothschild giraffes, lions, leopards, and seasonal flamingos that line the lake’s shores.
Next, explore the legendary Masai Mara National Reserve, Kenya’s most famous safari park and one of Africa’s top wildlife destinations. Known for its exceptional Big Five sightings, high predator density, and the spectacular Great Wildebeest Migration (seasonal), the Mara offers classic open-plains safaris and unforgettable photographic opportunities.
Your Discover Kenya safari concludes in Amboseli National Park, celebrated for its vast elephant herds and breathtaking views of Mount Kilimanjaro, Africa’s highest peak. Amboseli’s open plains and wetlands provide ideal conditions for close-range wildlife encounters and dramatic landscape photography.

After breakfast, it is off to the famous Maasai Mara National Reserve with its vast herds of game, particularly zebra and wildebeest. This reserve has the most diverse range of game out of all of the East African reserves.
The Maasai Mara is Kenya’s finest and most outstanding wildlife sanctuary where gentle rolling grassland ensures animals are never out of sight. The climate is gentle, rarely too hot and well spread rainfall year round. The wildlife is far from being confined within the Reserve boundaries and an even larger area extends beyond the game Reserve. Centuries of close association with the wildlife has resulted in an almost symbiotic relationship where wildlife and Maasai people live in peace with one another.
After lunch, explore the Reserve on a late evening game drive. No matter how much you have thought about Africa, this is more than you expected—the big five-Lion, Elephant, Leopard, Rhino and Cape buffalo are in abundance.
Overnight at Mara Sopa Lodge
Today we will be spending in the vast eco-system of the Mara searching for the big five and much more. You also have an optional balloon safari at an additional cost — Many call it a once in a lifetime experience, once you are up, you won’t want to come down, and once you land, champagne breakfast awaits you. Game viewing is great from the air with the opportunity for beautiful pictures. It’s worth noting that every game drive is different from the other, and missing one is missing out on the fun.
Two game drives and an optional visit to a Maasai village complete your day at Maasai Mara.
During our stay we also have an optional opportunity to visit a village of the Masai people at an additional cost to witness the singing and dancing that are part of their daily lives and sacred rituals. A glimpse into their homes and social structure is a poignant experience.
We leave Masaai Mara after breakfast and head to Amboseli via Nairobi for lunch. The Amboseli national park is at the foothills of Africa’s highest mountain – the snow-capped Kilimanjaro – and is renowned for its many ecosystems and thus provides a wide variety of fauna and flora which you will first see on your late afternoon game drive. You spend the next two nights at Amboseli Sopa Lodge. Day 8 will be a full day of game drives through the spectacular park.
